I just wanted to say that I'm with you, Beth: I voted for Evan in 2016, too, because I trusted the polling that said Trump couldn't win and I thought I was "safe" to protest vote. I DEEPLY regret that decision and unless we see a drastic change in our system of 2 party dominance, I will not be doing that again.

Re the Alabama question, to your excellent answer I want to add that I think (hope?) that the act of casting a vote makes it harder for that person to be caught up in conspiracy theories about the election, and might undercut the argument that it was stolen. They/we should all get out there and take our stands, and obviously trust the results!

Brilliant as always. As a thought (or maybe brag), I live in AK and, while people are trying to repeal RCV, we *could* do protest votes, because we get a second (and third and fourth) choice. Honestly, I think, in ranked choice elections, it's crucial to vote third party, because I can't imagine how else we get out of this particular American two-party hell. (If only they had it in 2016 when we all voted McMullen.)
